Ben Yardley is a musician and composer exploring texture and gesture in sound using field recordings, feedback and processed guitar. He composes and performs music independently and often collaborates with visual artists creating soundscapes and soundtracks for a diverse range of creative projects. 

Yardley is a founding member and guitarist of the critically acclaimed post rock band Laura, formed in 2001. Laura toured extensively across Australia and Japan until 2011. Laura’s music has also appeared in various film and television projects. In 2023 work was begun on a new Laura studio album. 

SENS DEP formed in 2009 featuring Yardley and his brother Andrew Yardley, with cellist Carolyn Gannell, SENS DEP explored notions of excess and restraint releasing their first studio album in 2020 followed by a performance at Dark Mofo in 2021.
